The weather got warmer and so did my heart
11:47 PMAfter my first Chicago winter, I was honestly shocked when I stepped outside today. Winters in Kansas were always cold. But Naperville was a different story entirely because of one word: wind. Take a zero-degree Kansas winter and then add winds of up to 40 mph. That's what you get when you live in or around the windy city in the winter time.
Essentially, getting used to the fact that the winters here are absolutely brutal and absolutely bitter, stepping outside into the cold doesn't get any easier. But I'd accepted the suckyness. And even so, what was hard was finding cute things to wear during this time. I felt like a marshmallow when I put on my big winter coat (courtesy of DKNY) especially when I was wearing jeans. So it was definitely more difficult to feel sexy.
So today I woke up, got ready for work and threw on a sweatshirt (no coat) because I heard it was going to be nice out today. And I was excited that it was going to be nice, but holy shit. I haven't felt this kind of weather against my skin for what seems like ages. I cannot express how blissfully wonderful it felt to be outside in the cool breeze in a sundress. You better believe I booked it home after work to put on something spring-y.
I hope you all had a lovely winter and look forward to the beautiful weather ahead!
