So, this weekend was extra, extra special because today (Sunday) my best friend and favorite person in the world came to see me! You probably recognize my sister from this post, which really takes the cake in terms of views on my blog. But anyway, all weekend, I was basically waiting until Sunday because I was so excited for her to finally come see where I live! And me being excited for Sundays is never a thing. I absolutely hate Sundays. I think they're kind of depressing because you still have the freedom of the weekend on your hands, but you know you have to recover for tomorrow, the dreaded Monday of doom.
Ultimately, I spent my Friday and Saturday on Tumblr, working on my book-to-be (hopefully,) playing Tomb Raider, and watching Hell on Wheels. And finally when Sunday came, I got up at eleven to pick up my sister from the train station.
I actually saw her just a few weeks ago. I make the trip up to Chicago pretty often to stay at her apartment. But today was really special to me because not only had I not seen her in a while, but I finally got to show her Naperville myself.
We were going to go to Egg Harbor but because of the wait, we booked it on down to Eggs Inc. instead. Naturally, I was disappointed that I couldn't show her the wonders of my favorite brunch place that I've been to only one time in my entire life, however, Eggs Inc. was actually really good. I splurged on carbs but what was great (and probably not so great) was that the pancakes I had weren't actually too filling. So I ate a big breakfast, treated myself, and didn't feel like I was dying afterwards. And I ate an egg- that was my protein for breakfast so don't try and make me feel guilty.
We shopped around for a bit and I ended up buying this fabulous mug from Francesca's. It was on sale for four bucks. Even though Francesca has a lot of frivolous items that are on the expensive side, their sales are honestly to die for. Same goes for TopShop and even Ulta.
We got some macaroons courtesy of Le Chocolat and after chilling out in my dorm room, painting out nails, and catching up, I of course had to take her to Frost. And then, after just a few hours, it was already time for her to go home.
Saying goodbye was a lot harder than I expected it to be, but I'm so happy I got to see her and I absolutely can't wait to see it again. Also- she received some really fabulous news tonight. I can't wait to share it as I'm proud as all hell and extremely happy for her...but that's her announcement to make. Until then...
